Submenu to floated toolbars...

Postby rhk » Wed Jul 06, 2005 6:39 am

Hi,

I've just bought the EnterpriseArchitect from sparxsystems.com.au and was very impressed about a great feature:

At some Submenus you have a dotted line at the top and if you drag this line out of the menu, the whole submenu is displayed as a floatable toolbar which you than could dock around.

I don't know if this is a standard mfc or c++ feature, but this is conceptionally great, cause at us, toolbars and menus are just "action holders" with no conceptional difference but different appearance (only icons, or icons and texts, horizontal or vertical...)

May be, if you have time, you could implement this feature too?

Regards,
Robert

It's possible in Swing too. Actually we are going toward it. JidePopup always supports drag-away kind of thing. JIDE Action Framework is designed to do so too. Next step is to integerate JidePopup with menu, we will be able to drag-away a submenu.

Thanks,
