Have you seen the eclipse tabbedPane? It lets you add toolbar buttons to the right hand side of the tab channel, selecting a tab shows the toolbar buttons related to the document. This is an amazing feature and saves lot's of screen space.

Surely we saw. If I remember correctly, it's a new feature that was introduced since Eclipse 3.0. Our Eclipse style Docking Framework is based on Eclipse 2.x. When we redesign Eclipse style, we will consider those new features that Eclipse 3.0 has and implement them.
